Tom Holland: overwhelming fame

Tom Holland is currently one of the most sought-after actors of the younger generation. The 26-year-old has gained international fame since he played Peter Parker in the Marvel productions “Spider-Man: Homecoming” (2017) and “Spider-Man: No Way Home” (2021). He has more than 67 million followers on Instagram, and more than 7.5 million followers on Twitter.

Media interest around the world is fueled by the fact that the actor is currently in a relationship with another big show business star, Zandaya. Since the first rumors about their relationship emerged, the two have been relentlessly featured on gossip sites and hit the front pages of color magazines.

Unfortunately, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Rising Star Award winner is not comfortable with the hype surrounding his persona. He has repeatedly lamented that he is bothered by his lack of privacy and that he doesn’t always know how to deal with fans and admirers demanding attention.

Tom Holland and mental health

In a new video shared on his profile, Tom Holland informed his community that he has decided to disappear from social media. The actor, who, as he indicated, had been inactive in the online space for some time, returned for a while on Instagram to explain what motivated his decision.

“Hi and goodbye. For the sake of my mental health, I’m taking a break from social media, but I feel obligated to mention Stem4. It’s one of the many foundations supported by The Brothers Trust (an organization created by the Holland family to publicize important charitable projects — ed. note), and I’d like to shed light on their great work,” the actor explained in his post.

In the posted video, meanwhile, the 26-year-old says he has removed the Twitter and Instagram apps from his phone and does not intend to post anything for a while. As he states, the use of social media has been aggravating for him, in addition to overstimulation leading to emotional problems.

“When I read things about me on the Internet, I get trapped and it’s very harmful to my mental health. So I decided to take a step back,” he pointed out.

The post posted by the actor received a very warm reception from female and male Internet users. There was also no shortage of voices from the world of show business. Comments were left by, among others, Justin Bieber, who had already admitted to mental problems himself a few years ago.

“Love you, man,” wrote the musician.

Tom Holland is not the only celebrity who has decided to limit her activity on social media platforms due to its destructive impact. Selena Gomez, who was offline for four years, admitted that cutting herself off from Instagram, among other things, has healed her relationships with herself and others.

“Taking a break from social media was the best decision I ever made for my mental health”, the artist asserted.
