The cult fragrances from the late 90s and early 2000s have their five minutes again. We recall them as eagerly as velour tracksuits, rump pants and thongs. Only that they have a bit more elegance. These perfumes are already legendary!

In the late 90s and early 2000s, they were considered the height of luxury! Everyone (or rather everyone) wanted to smell them. Along with velour tracksuits, low-rise pants, skimpy party tops and phone cases with Swarovski crystals, they were a real object of desire. And since the fashion of the 2000s is making a comeback, there is nothing to stop them from doing so, too. The most legendary perfumes from the 1990s and 2000s are experiencing a renaissance of popularity. So, check if by any miracle you have not got at least one bottle left. I think I have a few — after all, for a long time I treated them like relics. Do you remember these fragrances?

Tommy Girl, Tommy Hilfiger

It was my first perfume, that’s why I have a special weakness to it. The more so because my aunt used to bring them to me from Canada. Tommy Girl by Tommy Hilfiger was a reflection of American teenage girls’ style. Fresh, modern, a bit sweet, but not devoid of character. The composition, which appeared on the market in 1996 by Calice Becker, consists of apple blossom, mandarin, black currant, lemon, honeysuckle, rose, grapefruit, lily, mint, violet, jasmine and magnolia. And also cedar, sandalwood and leather, which “broke” the fragrance, making it really remarkable. Well, you will not hear a bad word about it from me for sure. I have a special fondness for this perfume!

212, Carolina Herrera

Another fragrance that stole my heart (and for which, years later, I betrayed “Tommy Girl”)? 212 by American designer Carolina Herrera. Honestly, until now I happen to prance with it and every time I get compliments. Well, it is impossible to pass by this perfume indifferently. If only because they are very intense. This is mainly due to the musk and sandalwood contained in it. However, in the composition you can also find more subtle (but no less intriguing) notes: bergamot, jasmine, gardenia, peony and… flower stems. The eclectic mix was meant to reflect the spirit of New York City, bustling with life and full of surprises. And she succeeded. No wonder the fragrance is still popular.

Miracle, Lancôme

It’s just a shame that the boy I had a crush on in high school had a weakness for a completely different scent. I’ll tell you what it is, but only because I’ve happily fallen out of love. I’m talking about Miracle by the French brand Lancôme. Here you will also find jasmine and musk, but apart from them much sweeter and invigorating notes: freesia, magnolia, mandarin, ginger and lychee. And all this with a touch of pepper. No wonder it can make your head spin.

Calvin Klein Eternity

“The only one that constantly delights me and the only one I’ve used for years”, “It’s unusual and attracts incredibly”, “I love it”- these are mostly the opinions you read online about Calvin Klein’s Eternity Eau de Toilette, although there are also complaints that it causes a headache. Well, you either love this scent or hate it. Among other things, because of its intensity — this scent really lingers on the skin for a long time. And what does it smell like? Freesia, narcissus and sandalwood.

But Eternity is not the only legendary perfume from the 90s and 2000s. Equally famous was CK One — a perfume with a unisex character or a heavier, amber Obsession. Remember.

Classique, Jean Paul Gaultier

The list of the most legendary fragrances of the 1990s and 2000s would not be complete without Classique by Jean Paul Gaultier, a fragrance that caused a sensation with its daring bottle in the shape of a woman’s body. This floral-amber Eau de Toilette was supposed to be a tribute to uninhibited femininity. Add self-confidence and emphasize character. So what is hidden in this beautiful flacon? Rose, pear, orange blossom, bergamot, tuberose, ylang-ylang, orchid, ginger, plum, as well as musk, vanilla, cinnamon and sandalwood. It must have been complicated!

Hypnotic Poison, Dior

Among the most desired fragrances from years ago was also Hypnotic Poison by Dior, which premiered in 1998. Annick Menardo and Christian Dussoulier were responsible for the oriental-vanilla composition, hidden in a flacon in the shape of a forbidden fruit (apple). Perfumers decided to combine coconut, plum and apricot, which are the head notes with Brazilian rose wood, jasmine, cumin (!), tuberose, rose and lily of the valley (heart notes) and vanilla, sandalwood, almond and musk. They created a composition for lovers of heavy Arabian fragrances. And they made their mark on fashion history forever.
