It helps to avoid dangerous diseases, gives you energy, motivation, also improves the condition of your skin, hair, nails. Good food is the basis of happiness!

Just imagine: beautiful, radiant and smooth skin, shiny hair, strong nails. But it can be even better: better control over stress, good mood, mass of energy. A dream? Not necessarily! There is a way. Here are 5 eating habits you should work on to feel the difference in your appearance and well-being!

Water instead of soda, yerba instead of coffee

Replace all sugary and energy drinks with pure spring water. Start with small steps, swapping individual glasses for healthier ones. Why is this important? Popular colored drinks have a number of drawbacks that are followed by negative health effects. They’re a lot of unnecessary calories and sugar per glass, which means:

  • increased risk of diseases, e.g. diabetes, obesity,
  • dental problems, tooth decay,
  • higher cholesterol levels.

Energy drinks, which are very high in caffeine, cause irritability, dehydration and are harmful to the heart. Several cups of coffee a day is also not a good idea. You can replace all this with the popular yerba mate infusion, which stimulates in the long term without leaching valuable substances from the body.

These small changes will keep your body properly hydrated, avoid unpleasant headaches and improve your complexion.

Don’t skip meals

There is nothing more unhealthy than forgetting to eat during the day. Skipping meals makes us lose energy, impatient and cranky. It also leads to a disruption of your natural rhythm, hunger pangs, and storing resources for backup.

How to prevent this? Try to take your lunch and small snacks with you on the road. It doesn’t have to be just boring sandwiches! Tortilla rolls with vegetables, salads, and a handful of nuts or simply chopped vegetables and fruit are all great options.

In crisis situations you can safely reach for healthy ready-made snacks. The change of eating habits should start today! Many people start by choosing snacks which are not only delicious but also full of vitamins. These are ready-made organic snacks containing fruits, nuts or selected vegetables. They have no artificial colors or flavors and are often sugar-free. Health can be tasty and these snacks are the best proof of that.

Fiber a silent friend

Fiber aids in proper digestion and is an important ingredient to be supplied in adequate amounts on a daily basis. Where can we find it? Its considerable quantities can be found in wholemeal bread, oatmeal, grains, vegetables and fruit.

To introduce it to your diet, you can start with healthy oatmeal for breakfast — just add your favourite fresh and dried fruit to oatmeal and pour natural yoghurt on top. Such a mixture will provide energy for the whole morning and support the digestive system.

Do not be afraid of groats or wholemeal pasta either. Try to smuggle vegetables into every meal. This will not only supplement the menu with valuable fibre, but will also make the diet varied and you will not miss anything in it.

Least processed is healthiest

Try to avoid highly processed products, such as ready-made boxed meals or fatty snacks. They tempt you with quick and easy preparation and intense flavour, but they are usually full of preservatives, artificial colors, fat and sugar. This greatly impoverishes the diet and can also lead to obesity and other diseases.

Unhealthy fast foods should definitely be a rarity, not a daily meal. Instead, choose fresh vegetables, fruits, whole-grain pasta, cereals and rice as a base.

Also read labels. The goods we choose are not only characterized by their organic, certified composition. This composition is, above all, short and clear. We are sure that there is nothing unnecessary, let alone harmful to our health.

Carrots instead of chips

Sound sad? Don’t worry! In fact, any less healthy food can be replaced with something better, without sacrificing taste.

Thus, an alternative to fried potato French fries will be baked yam French fries with the addition of olive oil and aromatic rosemary. Fatty burgers, on the other hand, can be prepared with whole grain buns and delicious veggie patties from the oven. And do you already know kale chips?

For even better flavors, open up to spices and experiment with them in your healthy cooking. Such curiosity can be soy sauce, turmeric, cardamom, smoked paprika powder and many others.
