It was Angelina who went to court at the time, arguing her motion with “irreconcilable differences.” Ultimately, the case ended in 2021 with a decision not to terminate Pitt’s parental rights. However, this is not the end of the former spouses’ court skirmishes. A few months ago, the 58-year-old actor accused his ex-wife of selling their shared French villa (and sizable winery) to a Russian oligarch. Now it is Angelina who is adding to the stove and revisiting the events of the famous 2016 flight, which ended in a brawl and FBI intervention.
Quarrel on Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s plane
The now-famous argument on a private plane was said to have occurred shortly before Angelina filed divorce papers. On board the jet, in addition to the couple, were the couple’s six children. The family was returning to the United States from a two-week vacation in France, and was scheduled to land in Los Angeles.
According to reports, the situation was tense even before all eight boarded the plane. As Angelina testified, the conflict between the then 15-year-old Maddox and the 53-year-old actor at the time was visible to the naked eye. The problem was said to be the appearance of the Cambodian-born boy. Nervousness about his son’s appeal caused Brad Pitt to get drunk during the course of the several-hour flight. The actress confessed that despite the alcohol in his blood, the ex-husband still contacted and behaved normally.
“Angelina has repeatedly seen Brad behave steadily after drinking an entire bottle of vodka by himself). Angry and drunk, Pitt was said to start arguments every thirty minutes, walking all over the plane and yelling at everyone”, the report said.
In addition to the brawl and pushing (mentioned in the next paragraph), Brad refused to let the family leave the jet when Jolie offered separate transportation for herself and the toddlers.
“You’re not going anywhere f**k! You’re not getting off this f***ing plane! F**k you all! You will not take my children away from me,” the actor argued.
Angelina Jolie bruises after confrontation with Brad Pitt
For some time now, facts from a report that the FBI compiled in 2016 have been coming to light. One of the photos attached as evidence shows the bruises that allegedly appeared on Angelina Jolie’s skin after a confrontation with Brad Pitt. As it turns out, the actress herself also provided photographs showing large bruises that appeared as a result of her famous brawl with her ex-husband on a private plane at the end of their marriage. One was on her elbow and the other on Jolie’s hand.
The photographs provided, along with testimony from the actors’ children, were to be the final evidence of Pitt’s violence. Angelina told investigators that Brad drank alcohol during the trip and at one point locked himself and her in the restroom. The actress testified that her ex-husband “grabbed her by the head,” “tugged on her shoulders,” pressed her against the toilet wall and yelled that she f***ing up the family,” and that the couple’s son Maddox would “kill someone someday.” The couple’s children were said to be crying outside the door and repeating, “Mom, are you okay?” to which the actor was said to have replied, “No, things are not okay with Mom. She is ruining our family. She is a crazy person”. One of the children (said to be Maddox) was said to have replied that it was not Jolie who was a nutcase, but Pitt himself. This only aggravated the situation and further enraged the actor. He was about to move towards the boy, but the way was blocked by Angelina, who was eventually pushed against the seats of the plane. Moreover, Jolie testified that her ex-husband poured alcohol on her (and the children lying with her) during the flight.
